Praça do Comércio Christmas Tree Light-Up ·📍 Praça do Comércio · 🗓️ November 22, 1830hrs

A Christmas postcard brought to life at the riverfront.
Lisbon’s biggest Christmas moment of the year happens when the giant tree at Praça do Comércio lights up for the first time.
The whole square fills with families, cameras and that unmistakable pre-holiday excitement as the city officially switches into Christmas mode.
Expect a countdown, live music or small performances, and plenty of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts from nearby stalls. It’s one of Lisbon’s most photogenic and feel-good moments of the season.
Local Tip: If you want to catch the magic, arrive early. The square gets very busy. And once the lights turn on, Baixa becomes the perfect place for a festive evening walk.
Rossio Christmas Market ·📍 Praça Dom Pedro IV · 🗓️ November 14 - December 21

The heart of Lisbon, glowing for Christmas.
Right in the heart of downtown, the Rossio Christmas Market is one of Lisbon’s most charming festive spots. The entire square transforms into a cosy Christmas village with wooden chalets selling local crafts, handmade ornaments and plenty of ginjinha to keep things warm.

A festive wonderland overlooking the city skyline.
Every year, Parque Eduardo VII transforms into Lisbon’s largest and most iconic Christmas market, and 2025 is no different.
With a huge ferris wheel overlooking the city, a full-sized ice-skating rink, Santa’s house, craft stalls, food chalets, mulled wine, churros, and light installations across the park, Wonderland Lisboa truly has it all!
It’s loud, colourful, and packed on weekends, but it’s also the place to feel the city’s Christmas energy at full blast.
Local Tip: Wonderland Lisboa gets packed on weekends, so weekday evenings are usually the best time to go. Entry is free, and you only pay for rides or ice skating.

Handmade gifts and holiday cheer inside the red-brick arena.

A festive evening along Alvalade’s iconic pedestrian street.
Alvalade’s neighbourhood Christmas market is back, transforming Avenida da Igreja into a festive pedestrian promenade filled with lights, music, and over 60 stalls of handmade crafts and regional products.
Local cafés and bakeries spill onto the street with seasonal treats, and evenings come alive with choirs, children’s performances, and small concerts organised by the parish and local associations.
There’s also plenty for kids: Santa’s house, workshops, balloon modelling, and weekend activities that keep the little ones busy while adults browse for last-minute gifts.

Families can wander through themed zones that recreate the Nativity story — the Nazarene Village, the Roman Camp, and even the Oasis of the Three Wise Men complete with real camels.
It’s one of the biggest Christmas experiences in Greater Lisbon, and a guaranteed favourite for kids and adults alike.
This event has an entry fee, though the exact pricing hasn’t been officially published yet.
Óbidos Vila Natal ·📍 Obidos · 🗓️ November 28 - January 4

Holiday magic framed by the medieval walls of Óbidos.

Expect everything from real ice skating, themed play areas, a snow village, Santa’s house, circus-style performances, giant inflatables, storytelling sessions, and plenty of festive food.
Kids absolutely love it, but adults enjoy it just as much. It’s one of those rare Christmas events that feels big, warm, and genuinely magical.
